RWJ is the official Level-1 Trauma Center for the region.  It has a cardiac care unit, and employs Hypothermic Treatment for post-cardiac arrest care.  Additionally, It is a Stroke Center and Transplant Center.  Please check out the website for details on all of the services this hospital has to offer. 


St. Peter's University Hospital

St. Peter's specializes in OB-GYN (high-risk) and neonatal care. 


JFK Medical Center

JFK specializes in Neurology and neurological rehabilitation, and is classified as a Stroke Center.


The Children's Specialized Hospital

This is a non-emergency-ambulance receiving facility that offers comprehensive medical care to children who require specialized care.  This facility is affiliated with RWJ.


All area hospitals offer similar levels of service in many areas of care.  The summary above is based on EMS transport decisions in the event that an ambulance is needed.  Ultimately, all of the area hospitals offer excellent care.  The decision for which hospital is your preference should be based on your PMD's (primary medical doctor's) advice and/or affiliation.
